Food From the Spoon to the World

Abstract

Today about food an infinite number of matters are orbiting, and they range from glamour to famine, from landscape redevelopment to global health, from geopolitics to food design.
MAXXI chose to analyse them from a specific yet comprehensive point of view a space issue, building a multidisciplinary journey in food’s social space, from the small scale of the human body and the rituals of the home environment to the street, the city, the landscape and the geopolitics of the world’ scenarios.

Author Biography

Gianluca Grigatti, Università degli Studi di Genova

He trained at the University of Genoa (cum laude degree in Conservation of Cultural Heritage in 2002, PhD in Design for the enhancement of the System-Territory in 2013). He has directed his scientific interests towards the definition of fundraising & design-oriented strategies for the enhancement of Cultural Heritage, especially following the inclusion of the Historical Collection of the Compasso d'Oro among the Cultural Heritage protected by the Italian Republic (2004). From 2007 to 2013 he was a collaborator in teaching and contract professor of History of Design at the Department of Sciences for Architecture of the University of Genoa. In 2011 he obtained a Certificate of Executive Manager in Fund Raising Management at AICCON - Study Center and Higher Education School of the University of Bologna. He also associates the research and teaching activities with the editorial one: freelance of the online magazine «Artegiovane.it» since 2003, editor of the magazine «DIID - Industrial Design Industrial Design» since 2011 of which, since 2013, he is a member of the Research Study Center.
