Author Biographies

Giovanna Calvenzi

During her university period, she worked as an assistant to the photographers Federico Patellani, Cesare Colombo and Toni Nicolini. In 1973, after graduating in Literature at the Università Cattolica of Milan, she began teaching History of Photography and Photographic Language at the professional courses for photographers of the Società Umanitaria, which later became the Riccardo Bauer Professional Training Center of the Lombardy Region. In 1977 she began working for photographic publishing and in particular with the Mondadori monthly Il Fotografo, an uninterrupted collaboration until the newspaper closed in 1984. Until 1985 she collaborates with various magazines (including Domus, Interni and Linea Grafica). Since then she has been a photo editor and consultant for numerous magazines and newspapers, continuing to carry out an intensive study of contemporary photography, curating, among other things, exhibitions and catalogues.

Paolo Lazzarin

He lives and works in Milan, working as a publicist and photographer. He has published articles of various kinds, on issues related to tourism, sport, leisure, collaborating with important Italian and foreign magazines and publishers. He is the author or co-author of numerous manuals.
