Frateili in the Magazines Debate

Abstract

The purpose of this article is to divulge Enzo Frateili’s work through his writings published in the design magazines during his work as an architect, critic, and expert of design and contemporary architecture. The author, through this review, fully respects the Frateili’s multifaceted activity, “not just making contributions to the history but always pointing to the connection between history and philosophy of design, as well as between history and technology development. A mix that would also feature his books more specifically dedicated to the history” (Norsa & Riccini, 2016, p. X).

Author Biography

Piercarlo Crachi

Architect graduated in Rome in 1991; in 1998 he obtained the title of Doctor of Research in Environmental Design. He works in the field of architectural design, restoration, recycling and industrial design (Museo Manzù and thematic garden at Ardea, Wine Museum in Alcamo, Libyan Museum in Tripoli). He has published various essays and articles on architecture and design. Since 1997 he has been a member of the register of Journalists as a publicist. From 1998 to 2004 he is a contract professor at the Faculty of Architecture “La Sapienza” in Rome; from 2005 to 2007 he is a contract professor at the Faculty of Communication Sciences of the University of Rome “La Sapienza”.
