Farewell

Abstract

[...] I can only experience this farewell as a special occasion. And it is therefore that this issue is presented in a particular form. I asked to colleagues (and friends) of the editorial boards that over the years have led the magazine with me to choose, among the published essays, the one that they think is particularly significant and to justify the reason with a short introductory text. The result is a small representative anthology of the issues published so far. In this way, we hope to offer the reader a repertoire of themes and authors who, in our opinion, have contributed to increasing, in terms of methods, sources, contents, our historical knowledge and others that have opened up new avenues of study ...

Author Biography

Raimonda Riccini, Università Iuav di Venezia

Full professor at the Iuav University of Venice, where she is deputy director of the Doctoral School and oversees the activities of the "Writing laboratory". She is a member of the SID board (the Italian Design Society, 2018-21) of which she has been president since 2021. She created "Frid. Doing research in design", the national forum of Italian design doctorates and has curated inter-site doctoral teaching initiatives. She is the founder and past president of the Italian Association of Design Historians, she directed the peer-reviewed journal "AIS / Design. Storia e Ricerche” from the first issue. Active in theoretical and historical research on design, her current research interests concern the relationship between design and technologies.
