Abstract

A review of Alberto Rosselli’s work in order to make out the Milanese architect and designer who profoundly influenced the culture of the project and laid the foundations for the discipline of design.
The heedful management of Stile Industria, the punctual university lectures and ultimately the proposal of innovative and courageous projects still act as a testament to its relevance both at a theoretical and practical level.
Alberto Rosselli was one of the promoters-founders of ADI (Association for Industrial Design), he was among the first to talk about "industrial design", but he also led to a breakthrough in university teaching by setting rigorous method criteria and introducing the concept of design as a decision-making process.
On a design level, Alberto Rosselli’s investigations carried a strong social imprint: his gaze, always aimed at grasping the user's real needs, was able to translate them into solutions of exemplar simplicity on a technological and material level.
