Abstract

Jole Veneziani is one of the most famous names in Italian high fashion in the Fifties and Sixties, which dominated for the essential taste of its day pieces and the unbridled imagination of the evening ones. The article investigates the deep and complex relationships that Veneziani had with the world of industry, highlighting the innovative and pioneering traits of her work, oriented towards experimenting with new fibers and shapes more suitable for industrial production, but also the efforts to built associative relationships between creators of haute couture, the clothing and textile industries. Finally, the innovative aspects of his figure are taken into consideration in the context of the formation of the current fashion system.

Author Biography

Manuela Soldi, Università IUAV di Venezia

Research fellow at the Iuav University of Venice with a project related to the Bottega Veneta corporate archive. Lecturer in Heritage and fashion design at the same university and in Cataloguing and archive management at the Accademia Santa Giulia in Brescia. His research interests include the history of fashion, craftsmanship and made in Italy. She collaborates with various cultural organizations for the enhancement of archives and collections. She has published Rosa Genoni. Moda e politica: una prospettiva femminista fra ’800 e ’900 (Marsilio 2019).
