Abstract

A year after the death of enlightened manager Gian Lupo Osti, and just before the celebration of the sixtieth anniversary of the launching of Oscar Sinigaglia the integral cycle plant, the flagship of Italian steel industry of the post-war, located in Genoa Cornigliano, it is worth pointing out what has been written so far about the extraordinary experience of art direction held in the sixties by the artist Eugenio Carmi, and recalling its essential steps.

Author Biography

Silvia Pericu, Università di Genova

Architect and researcher in Building and Environmental Recovery, she combines her professional activity with teaching activity in the field of Industrial Design in the DSA of the Polytechnic School of the University of Genoa. Its research field, oriented towards social design, ranges from public space design to the themes of sustainable mobility, requalification in urban contexts and communication strategies and enhancement of territorial resources. Within these issues, she edited the volumes Urban mobility in 2006, research on the topic of urban mobility, in 2008 Design under construction on design for urban construction sites and in 2013 Design for city life.
